Pregnancy belly rings are one our top sellers. This is what one of the sales people said when we asked about maternity body jewelry also called pregnancy belly rings. These are special belly button rings that have no steel or metal in them. This is very important as the steel or metal can cause problems with the baby. The other reason why mothers choose pregancy belly rings is that it keeps the piercing open so that the hole does not close up during the 9 month pregnancy.

A Foot Bath Relieves the Tenderness and Swelling of an Ingrown Toenail

November 13th, 2010

Ingrown toenails are very painful. When one of my toenails became ingrown, I had redness around the nail along with a great deal of swelling. It was so tender that wearing shoes or even touching it was almost impossible. I knew only certain things cause this and they are:

·        Crowding the toenail by wearing shoes that do not fit properly.

·        Failing to cut the toenail straight across or cutting too short.

·        Injuring the nail.

·        Unusually developed nail shapes.

Treating the Symptoms

Relief was my goal. I found a tremendous amount of this in Comfortably Numb Foot Cream Concentrate from Powerfeet. This product astonishingly alleviated much of the pain and tenderness. I was shocked at how quickly it began working. It also left my toes and feet so soft and touchable. Along with the cream, I also took some other measures to assure comfort:

·        Over the counter anti-inflammatory medications as directed on the bottle for the swelling and pain.

·        Applied triple antibiotic ointment topically to the tender area of the toe.

·        Wore sandals and loose fitting house slippers whenever possible.

Each night, I would soak my entire foot in very warm water for about 20 minutes. This foot bath reduced the swelling and tenderness. Foot soaks for ingrown toenails are highly suggested and can be done several times a day until the problem is resolved.

Going Back to School Equals Lice Outbreaks

October 13th, 2010

School aged children get head lice more than anyone else.  It is not because they don’t bath as much as the rest of us.  In fact, cleanliness or uncleanliness has nothing to do with lice.  Lice are parasites that have been around for centuries.  The can only be spread through close contact.  They are unable to fly or even jump, but among school children they spread quickly because kids hug each other, have sleep overs, and share things such as hair brush and clothing items.

Head lice can be a nightmare.  These tiny insects have become quite resistant to the chemicals found in over the counter lice shampoo.  These chemicals don’t work that well anymore and they are not good for your children.

Natural lice can be treated by using oils and enzymes that actually work better than chemical treatments.  These products have been shown to kill lice and to help remove the lice eggs, also known as nits.  Nits are attached to the hair shaft with a glue like substance.  They are hard to remove.  If you leave any nits in the hair they will soon turn into new lice.  Most chemical treatments don’t do anything to address nits.

Tooth Whitening Pen

Whiter Teeth? Yeah Me Too! Here’s How!

Who doesn’t want whiter teeth, yet most people don’t want to spend the time to go the dentist or they realize that results are minimal the very first time. This means repeat trips to the dentist to get your teeth whitened and that means more money. For professional tooth whitening you can pay over a thousand dollars if you don’t pay attention or if you have to have the results.

Tooth Whitening Pen

So here is what you really need to know. I go to friends house and see that she is painting this stuff on her teeth – a tooth whitening pen. Well I wouldn’t really say painting but she if brushing it on her teeth and really jamming it into the cracks between her teeth! This is important because she says that the typical whitening treatments don’t get into the cracks in her teeth. I asked her if the tooth whitening pen that she is using does a good job. She smiled and omg – her teeth looked great. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but they were so white.

“Look in between my teeth too,” she said smiling wide so that I could see. They were incredibly white. She gave me the second pen in the pack and said to go for it. Where are the trays – no trays! How long do you leave it on. For a little bit she says to me. Do it whenever you have time. I usually get results in a about 10 to 15 minutes. But don’t worry she told me that because your don’t use trays you can talk on the phone and every other normal activity.

I brushed it on. I was pleasantly surprised that it tasted really good (some whiteners don’t). I walked around and we talked – I really forgot that I had it on. Let’s see she finally told! She smiled and told me to look in the mirror. They were so much whiter than just a few minutes ago. Since that time I have used many times and also jammed it into the cracks and have whitened the front and the back of my teeth! This tooth whitening pen is the mack daddy! Quite spending so much on the trays and junk at Walmart! Go get this pen!

Microdermabrasion- Skin Benefits

microderm for healthy skinMicrodermabrasion has become very popular because of the many benefits to the skin.  It can address a variety of skin and aging problems such as fine lines, sun spots, scars, acne, stretch marks and wrinkles.

For acne sufferers microdermabrasion has shown a lot of potential.  Many patients find that microdermabrasion goes a long way to remove acne scars.  It is a good skin resurfacing treatment for acne scars.

One of the best things about microdermabrasion treatments is that they are mild.  There is also no downtime required for recovery.  It is also very little if any pain or discomfort involved.

Microdermabrasion can be used to treat a variety of skin imperfections.  It is very effective for treating sun damage and hyper pigmentation.   It is also used on most skin types.  It can treat various imperfections like aging skin, acne scars, wrinkles, enlarged pores, keratoses, blemished skin and brown spots.

You will usually need to have several treatments to get achieved results.  Most people recommend between four and eight treatments.  Treatments are usually done in two week intervals.  Many people report a difference in skin after only one or two treatments.  Microdermabrasion stimulates collagen production.  New collagen makes the skin smoother and reduces the visibility of blemishes.

More aggressive treatments may be needed for more serious conditions such as acne scars.  To make these types of scars diminish you may need to do more rounds of treatments.  Darker pigmented areas or pitted skin may also require more treatments to achieve required results.

There are limitations of microdermabrasion.  It is a mild procedure and may not work well on heavily damaged skin.   Bad damage may require something more aggressive such as laser treatments of chemical peels.  It is also not recommended for anyone who has had Botox injections, collagen implants or chemical peels within the past six months.
